OS & Software Installs & Updates

Sometimes a fresh operating system installation is what your computer needs to run smoothly again. We will backup your files, wipe your computer clean, and reinstall your operating system, breathing new life into your computer.

• Identify operating system issue, be in a stuck update or outdated OS version

• Backup files to an external drive

• Wipe hard drive clean to make way for fresh installation

• Identify best operating system version (some older Macs cannot run the latest OS, so we’ll find the latest stable version for that machine)

On-Site & Cloud File Backups

• Setup on-site backups with an external hard drive

• Replace on-site backup hardware (every 4 years recommended)

• Setup cloud-based backups through Crashplan or another service

Hard Drive Replacement / Upgrade

A hard drive replacement is often indicated when a computer is running slowly but is otherwise in good health. New hard drives without moving parts, called solid state drives (SSDs), are much faster than the spinning disk drives they replace. Give your computer a new lease on life with a SSD upgrade. We take the following steps:

• Backup files and settings from old drive (if still functional)

• Install hard drive / SSD in desktop or laptop computer

• Reinstall operating system onto new drive

• Transfer files onto new drive, reinstall programs and restore settings

Setup A New Printer

Casatech will drive to your home in Greater Ann Arbor to setup a wired or wireless printer or other device. We handle every step, including:

• Recommend a new printer

• Unbox and setup in the location of your choosing

• Connect via ethernet, WiFi, and/or USB

• Set IP boot to static, which reduces connectivity issues on WiFi

• Setup software and drivers so you can print from any computer or mobile device (if applicable)

Setup Another Device

We will setup a webcam, speakers, USB microphone, bluetooth keyboard, or any other computer peripheral. We can:
